I hope everyone and their families have a
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Basketball Schedules through the end of the semester:

**If you are scheduled to cheer you MUST be at the game or find a substitute that is the same stunting position as you!! It must also be approved through me AT LEAST 3 days before the game unless it is a last minute emergency in which I need acceptable documentation.

If you are not scheduled and you want to cheer you are more than welcome to come to the game to cheer but the same rules apply to you as if you were scheduled and I need to be notified at least 24 hours in advance...example: you must be there the entire time, no sitting out/halfway doing things, etc.

There are no "specific" basketball cheers at this point. We will focus on more bball cheers after winter break as we will not have to worry about competitions. You are to do the "general" cheers that were done at football. (no 1st down, touchdown, etc.) Words can be changed as well but don't stress about this too much:
example: Touch-down eagles score score = Let's-Go Eagles Score Score

If your name is listed in bold under a game YOU are responsible for calling cheers at the game which means you need to know your cheers and how to call them.

Update!

Butterbraids will not be delivered until 7 and they will need a minute to sort and get everything situated. My suggestion would be to be there at 8:10 to get them picked up at the same time you are picking your girls up!

Girls:

Please Please Please come into this week with a positive attitude. You have all worked very hard to get to the point you are and let's not take steps backwards. We have overcome many obstacles throughout the season but that is what makes these competition experiences so much more special. That despite the ups and downs you can still come together as a team and represent Heritage High School in the most positive way possible. I am so proud of how far you have come. We have a lot of work to do Tomorrow and Wednesday and it will be tough but so worth it.

"When you work hard, good things happen"

Team Bonding

THIS Friday from 6pm to 9pm at Julie's House!!

Remember you need a RED tshirt and decoration supplies to make your shirts. Also grab extra newspapers from recycling to put down to keep everything clean!! :)

We will be doing s'mores so you also need to bring the following supplies:

Ashley F, Ashley C, Mary H, Mary B, Alisha, Michelle

Amethyst, Delaney, Jamie, Sammi, Chrissy, Chelsea, Tiffany
HERSHEY BARS (at least 4 full sized bars or one of the packages of hershey bars that has several bars in it) You can never have too much chocolate!!

Julie, Katie, Maddi, Jasmine, Aubrey
GRAHAM CRACKERS

It will be lots of fun and a time for us to get together and think of something "not cheer" before our rush of competition season!!

For Saturday:

The varsity team has changed competition divisions and so we will not have their competition time until this evening. I am anticipating it will be an early time therefore we will probably meet together, carpool down, carpool back and then have practice!! Please be flexible I will hopefully have all information up tonight!!

**We also need to be gearing up for competitions, we have one on wednesday and saturday this next week. Please volunteer to carpool and help out as needed by responding to the emails that are being sent out. This is a team effort for not only the girls but the families as well!! :)

Friday: Girls, please keep in mind what I told you last night. You need to come to practice with a different attitude and work ethic. It's crunch time and we have SO much to get done still that I need nothing less than 100% and a positive attitude from ALL of you. :)

Team Bonding, Saturday Varsity Competition Details

Tuesday after school you will need to meet in the main commons area immediately after school to make competition signs for your parents. Margie Harms is in charge of this event. If you cannot make it please make arrangements with her to have someone else do it or find another time you can.

Friday:
Team bonding @ Julies. Time TBA (evening)
Bonfire, s'mores, fun!!
Each girl needs to bring a RED tshirt and tshirt decorating supplies so you can make your shirt for the varsity competition on saturday.

More details this week!

Saturday: Depending on when the Varsity girls will be competiting determines whether we will have morning practice or afternoon practice. It looks like they may be competiting between 10 and 11 but the final schedule will not be released until wednesday. If this is the case, we will practice early in the morning and be done in time to carpool to the competition together. Ideally the schedule will be something like:
Practice 7 to 9am then carpool over together. Please be flexible.

I need parents who are willing to carpool to the competition!! It is at Legacy High School in Broomfield. We need room for 18 girls. Please email me if you can carpool so I can make sure all girls are accounted for!!

Competition spectator fee is 6.00. Free for under five. Parents are also encouraged to attend!! If you have never been to a competition it is a good way to see what it's all about before we jump into it next week.

Please be drinking lots of water, eating healthy, and getting enough sleep at night. Please come into practice with a positive attitude and we will leave with positive results :) So proud of how hard you girls have been working and lets kick it up a few notches and work even harder. The parade starts @ 3:45. It ends at the Melting Pot in Downtown Littleton. Your daughter needs to have a ride to pick them up from that spot! If you cannot pick them up you need to talk to other cheers/moms and figure out a carpool for your daughter.

Hair ALL the way up in a pony tail.

Parents:

Please remember:

**When scheduling appointments they need to be scheduled around cheerleading practice. I know the schedule isn't up too far in advance but you can email me for suggestions on when. In Oct/Nov Tuesdays would be the best day.

**In regards to the girls if they don't practice, they don't play. This is the rule. If they are gone while I am working on game day material, they will sit for the material they miss.

**When texting/emailing/calling me you need to give me a TWENTY FOUR HOUR response period. I work from 8:30 to 3:30 every day (chasing 12-24 month kids around) and I am also a full time student. I devote most of my time to this cheer program and I will not always be able to answer phone calls, texts, or emails immediately. Please DO NOT text me to ask about practice times or "silly" questions. Your girls are in high school and they need to learn to communicate these things to you. It's their responsibility. I will tell you exactly what I tell them, ITS ON THE BLOG. Also, Please be respectful and do not call me before 9:00am or after 9:00pm unless it's an absolute state of emergency.

We will not go to RME tomorrow as it interferes with TOT clinic. We will make it up at a later date.

Alisha
PRACTICE TOMORROW (FRIDAY 9/17) IS CANCELLED! IT IS TOO HECTIC TRYING TO FIND SPACE AND GETTING THINGS DONE WITH THE LIBERTY BELL. PLEASE PASS ON TO EVERYONE!!

Time Management

As our schedule becomes busier with football games, volleyball games, and preparation for competition season we all need to manage our time. This means utilizing free time wisely and making sure we are attending to our studies, eating correctly and getting plenty of rest.

If wanted and/or needed, I am willing to schedule a study hall time for the entire HHS Cheer program. Please let me know if a scheduled study hall time is something you are interested in attending.

First monthly Parent Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 31st, at 7:00 pm in the Main Floor lecture hall. Mark you calendars and I hope to see everyone there! Thanks to Dacia Donohue, Leslie Knowles, Trudy Lundberg, & Linda Steiert for putting this together.

***Parents: Please also be sure to check the blog on a daily basis. I have been getting more and more emails each day regarding information that is already posted to the blog. If I receive an email from you asking a question about something and the information is already posted on the blog I will respond to you the same way I respond to the girls "Check the Blog". I keep the blog so you all can easily access the information and to save time from sending emails back and forth and back and forth. If you have a question that is not answered I will be more than happy to respond to you answering the question or clearing things up. Please don't take offense to this or an email response saying "check the blog". It defeats the purpose of the blog if I receive emails and have to retype the same thing over and over to respond.

Thanks! :)

Make them pretty and exciting! Add on there what is so great about cheerleading and why they would want to do it!

Please turn your posters into me at RME Stunting on Friday. I will then put them up at the school.

This is required by all of you! (I should recieve NO LESS than 15 posters)Please write your names on the back of them so I know who I have recieved posters from.

YAY??

I think I got the calendar times finally back to par. After fiddling with all of the settings and erasing and reposting and blah blah blah I believe it's back to where it should be. Could someone please shoot me an email on if the times are correct?

Thanks :)

Welcome Coach Thompson!

I'd Like To Introduce Coach Thompson
It is with great pleasure that I introduce Coach Nancy Thompson. Coach Thompson will be joining our staff and we could not be happier. She comes to us with a wealth of experience in cheerleading. Coach Thompson coached with Coach B at Ponderosa High School the last two years. She has two daughters, Jen & Taylor. Jen cheered at Grandview High School for 4 years and went on to cheer at UNC for 2 years. Taylor was a pom on the Pom Squad at Grandview High School.
Please introduce yourself to her. She will be a wonderful addition!

WELCOME COACH THOMPSON!!!

Sunday, July 18, 2010

Practices will start up next week, Tuesday/Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 for the next two weeks until I am aware of when stunt clinic/choreography camp will be. Please be patient as I get the rest of the schedule together :)

Also reminder, you will receive your uniform once your July balance is paid. Bring your money to Coach B or myself at RME on Monday :)

I also have the following girls listed so far that are going to the tumbling clinic on Thursday:

Mary Harms
Maddi Irving
Amethyst Smallwood

Please email me if you are planning on attending!!!! We need to have an idea of head count. It is $5.00. It would probably be nice if you guys could get a carpool put together for going down and coming back. I will unfortunately not be able to be there due to my work schedule. :(

The address for Castle Rock Gymnastics is: 4807 N. Industrial Way, just south of the Castle Rock Outlets.

Also, Social/Team Bonding Committee:
How about a back to school kick off party? Could be a fun way to get everyone together before the grind of the cheer/school year starts :) Feel free to comment on this post with ideas or email them to me.
